Family and Elder Care Mediation
When you need to make time-sensitive decisions about people you love, mediation can help unify differing opinions into creative care solutions. As a certified mediator, I work with families and care givers to help them identify underlying hopes and concerns, make effective decisions, and move into the future with confidence. My approach eases conflict so family members can discuss life-altering choices in an atmosphere of safety, compassion and camaraderie.
Mediation helps resolve eldercare issues such as:
- Quality of life
- Housing
- Driving & transportation (limitations on driving, testing, transportation to medical appointments, friends, social events & church)
- Residential living and level of care
- Care-giving (division of duties, relief for caregivers, level of care needed, planning vacations for parents & caregivers)

- Working through family disputes (improving sibling relationships, learning communication skills, & working as a team)
- Wills, trusts & estates (planning, distribution of assets, & resolution of family disputes)
- Division or sale of businesses & property
- Powers of attorney & guardianship
Health care decisions - Emergency decisions
- Planning for end of life decisions (advanced directives (living wills/life prolongation, organ donation preference, appointment of health care representatives), and funeral planning.
Community Mediation
I mediate disputes between neighbors, consumers and small businesses, and business to business.
Workplace Conflict Resolution
I also mediate disputes between co-workers, transform dysfunctional teams into high-performance teams, and facilitate labor- management partnership negotiations. I handle EEO issues.
Training in collaborative problem solving offers work teams a common language and approach for addressing difficult issues early. Mediation and negotiation, whether formal or informal, provides structure for people to work towards negotiated resolutions and improve performance in the future.
I bring expertise and precision to managing complex, multi-party resolution processes. My preliminary services include helping conveners to develop the initial purpose and scope of the work to be done and to identify potentially affected parties. I provide training of stakeholder groups and formats for information exchange and joint fact-finding.
By working with all of the representatives and their constituency groups, I structure processes that stimulate understanding and communication. I facilitate conversations that surface the combined wisdom of the group and craft lasting solutions to complex problems.
